Pump(dot)Fun Suspends Livestream Feature Amid Backlash
pump.fun’s anonymous founder said they would work to protect users from seeing “repulsive/dangerous content”
In a shocking post earlier today, metav3rse has shared the dark, psychotic and degenerate side of meme coin trading, particularly on pump dot fun through their livestream function.
Latest in cyber here with the details. Full transparency disclosure: a few days ago, I did launch a meme coin on the platform, but it was done solely for research and giggles and I will not be continuing to shill the project or the platform moving forward.
In the past few days, users have been sounding the alarm on X (Twitter), calling on the Pump dot fun team to moderate or remove live-streaming, which is currently rated EV, from the platform due to wild and inappropriate use by meme coin creators shilling their tokens.
I will not be describing, or unblurring, any of the few photos that metav3rse shared, although it's important to note that despite the shocking nature of the ones shared, much worse can easily be found on the platform.
Even cyber investigators are shocked at the level of miscreants active on the platform.
May this be a warning to all, and especially parents whose children are frequenting these corners of the web.
It's a dark world out here.
